It’s been an inspiring and dynamic time here in TfL’s Women’s Colleague Network Group (WCNG). Since my last blog, we’ve been hard at work delivering impactful initiatives and supporting our colleagues across a range of important issues. One highlight has been the launch of our new Menstrual Hub, designed to cover all aspects of women’s menstrual health. Building on the success of our award-winning Menopause Hub, this new resource focuses on raising awareness, creating a supportive community, and providing practical tools and information. We kicked things off with a fantastic launch event in September, and I’m thrilled about the exciting events we’ve already planned for the future!
Moving onto Menopause - Throughout October, we shone a spotlight on the menopause with some fabulous first-of-a-kind events that truly broke new ground.
• Collaboration with PwC: We hosted a round table event that was so popular it ended up being standing room only!
• In-Person Gala: The highlight was our in-person gala event, attended by the Transport Commissioner, who left with invaluable insights to share with his executive team.
• Online Session with Carolyn Harris, MP: This event brought her expertise and advocacy to a wider audience, further enriching the conversation.
These events—and many more too numerous to mention—highlighted the power of collaboration and the importance of addressing menopause in the workplace. This ground-breaking effort is evidence of what can be achieved with commitment, creativity, and teamwork. Our commitment to advocacy and support has remained steadfast. We proudly collaborated with colleagues during Black History Month and supported the White Ribbon 16 Days of Action to Prevent Violence Against Women and Girls. We held sessions on TfL’s new Sexual Harassment Guidance and Domestic Abuse all of which were incredibly powerful, these initiatives highlight the power of collective action in driving meaningful change.
Meanwhile, our trailblazing Imposter Syndrome Programme continues to make a profound impact, offering participants transformative tools to overcome self-doubt and build confidence. It’s been a privilege to see the positive outcomes from this inaugural programme.
As International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month approach, we’re turning up the momentum with a packed calendar of events designed to inspire, educate, and empower. I’m especially excited about a brand-new addition to our lineup: The Women’s Health Fair. This event aims to shine a spotlight on the wide-ranging health challenges women face, many of which can significantly affect their personal and professional lives. By bringing together experts, professionals, and support networks, the fair will provide resources, workshops, and valuable insights to all our colleagues—not just women. Our goal is to ‘Accelerate Action’ in women’s health by promoting awareness of key issues, encouraging self-care, and fostering a proactive approach to health management. This is a critical opportunity to educate and engage, ensuring that health and well-being remain a priority for everyone.
It’s going to be a busy time, but with the incredible support of the #WCNGVolunteerArmy, I’m confident that together, we’ll make a real difference in 2025—let’s keep accelerating action!
