Eurovia UK renews partnership with Women in Transport

On International Women’s Day, we are delighted to announce the renewal of our valued partnership with Eurovia UK. The partnership includes 50 free membership places offered by Eurovia UK to women, and men, across its business.

Women in Transport and Eurovia UK have been partners since International Women’s Day in 2019. Eurovia UK has supported the regional expansion of our network and the work of our All Party Parliamentary Group to help increase gender balance in the transport sector. Today, we will be launching a significant piece of research into gender perceptions in the sector thanks to this partnership.

Our ongoing partnership demonstrates Eurovia UK’s commitment to improving and encouraging diversity in their own businesses and across the transport sector as a whole. It has provided people from across its businesses with an opportunity to be part of a professional network that is championing the role of women and the value of a diverse workforce – just one of many measures they are investing in to strengthen their position on diversity and inclusion.

Membership of Women in Transport provides access to events, networking, mentoring, volunteering and the All Party Parliamentary Group for women in transport. Members benefit from opportunities to build their skills, share their expertise and raise their profile and visibility in the sector.

Scott Wardrop, Chief Executive of Eurovia UK, said:

“It is vital that we improve the diversity of thought and experience in our sector, as we rethink and reshape our highways and transport networks for a greener, brighter future. I am proud that our business continues to support and champion Women in Transport to increase the representation of women across our sector.”

Sonya Byers, Chief Executive of Women in Transport said:

"Our valued partnership with Eurovia UK continues to strengthen over time. We are incredibly grateful for their ongoing support and commitment to diversity and inclusion particularly given the challenges of this unprecedented year. Our organisations remain as passionate and committed as ever to advancing the careers of women in transport and showcasing the diversity of opportunity in our sector."

Our industry wide network is open and inclusive, welcoming everyone who works in the transport sector. Our mission is to support the professional advancement of women working in the transport sector and we believe in promoting inclusion across the industry.
