Women in Transport at MOVE 2020

This week Women in Transport’s Chief Executive, Sonya Byers, will be speaking at MOVE 2020. The conference and exhibition is expected to triple in size and scope from last year’s successful launch, which saw nearly 3,000 urban mobility leaders from across the globe attend.

The conference will feature 1,000 speakers over 500 sessions across 15 content tracks, covering the entire ecosystem of urban mobility. New to the 2020 agenda are streams dedicated to Ticketing, Revenue & Payments; GIS & Mapping; Security, Liability & Regulation; Smart Traffic and AIR, which explores the role of drones and UAVs in mobility.

Conference Director Cormac Cronin Martin is leading the effort: “MOVE is all about spotlighting creative solutions that pave the way towards a sustainable future for urban transport. The speakers we’ve signed up this year are true disruptors in the industry. And that’s exactly what we’re looking for – we’ve got a bold vision and we need people who aren’t afraid to challenge the status quo.”

The exhibition will include 200 leading transport innovators, plus 250 of the most interesting startups making waves on the mobility scene. More than 8,000 transport leaders across government, automotive, logistics, energy and more are expected to attend.

Building on the popularity of last year’s Start-Up Village, MOVE 2020 will debut the ‘Start-Me-Up’ pitching competition, giving aspiring mobility innovators the chance to pitch their ideas and technology to a room of industry C-Levels and investors.

Ed Carr, CEO of driverless transport company BeemCar found last year’s MOVE Start-Up Village to be a great networking opportunity: “I’d sum up MOVE in a couple words: future and mobility. It’s an extraordinary event. We’ve met car companies and Departments of Transport from different cities around the world.”
