High Speed Two Ltd (HS2), in collaboration with Innovate UK, is investing £300,000 in a Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) competition to deliver innovation that will drive project efficiencies and process optimisations during the design and construction phase of High Speed 2.
Phase 1 of this activity is being managed by Innovate UK. A decision to proceed with phase 2 will depend on the outcomes from phase 1. Successful applicants from phase 1 will be invited to apply to take part in phase 2 which will be managed by HS2.
Applications are being sought for feasibility studies delivering innovative solutions within the themes of:
Reduce manual operations
Project interfaces
Waste in construction
Recruitment and onboarding
Procurement loss prevention
Practical solutions as well as strategic, new technology-based solutions are both welcome. Project duration for phase 1 activities will be 3 months and will not exceed £30,000 including VAT.
KTN will host an online briefing event on 12 November 2020 between 10:00 and 12:00 for potential bidders to find out more about the competition.
