Institute of Civil Engineers supports Women in Transport

By Sonya Byers, CEO, Women in Transport

It is my pleasure to announce that the Institution of Civil Engineers is a Silver Sponsor for the 16th Somerset House ice skating and Dirty Martini drinks reception.

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is one of the most pre-eminent engineering institutions in the world. Established as a learned society in 1818, it has over 92,000 members and provides a voice for civil engineering, continuing professional development and promoting best practice throughout the industry.

Covering the London region, ICE London serves 9,000 engineers, technicians, apprentices and students through sharing knowledge and actively promoting civil engineering in the wider public by working with industry, schools, universities, local government and the media.  It also seeks to facilitate further collaboration and transfer of knowledge with the wider sector through its associate members. ICE London is proud of the rich diversity within its membership which reflects the global city that London is.

Jonathan Baggs, ICE Director for London and the South East says:

“We are delighted to support Women in Transport to develop new opportunities and enhance our current initiatives that support the progression of women in the industry and to recognise the positive impact our members play in improving the lives of Londoners.”

We thank the Institution of Civil Engineers for their support of the Somerset House ice skating and Dirty Martini reception.

The support of our corporate sponsors and partners allows us to keep our membership fee accessible to support all women working in the transport sector.  If you are interested in partnership with Women in Transport, please get in touch.
