Women in Transport has been working closely with Government to advance women in transport and profile the wonderful range of careers in our industry. We are actively sharing our expertise with the Strategic Apprenticeship Taskforce's Diversity Group.
The Strategic Apprenticeship Taskforce (STAT), chaired by Commissioner of Transport for London, Mike Brown, is a voluntary, cross-industry body that has been given responsibility for meeting stretching targets for apprenticeships, improved sector diversity and promoting transport as a career.
STAT recently published its annual report, outlining progress one year on from the launch of the Department for Transport's (DfT's) Infrastructure Skills Strategy. The report outlines that 35,000 apprenticeships are to be created in 5 years and DfT and its delivery bodies are making greater investment in jobs and skills and driving diversity in the industry.
Our contribution is acknowledged at the end of the report under our previous name, WTS London.
