The Women in Transport Book Club is planning something very special for the autumn session. Earlier this year, our long-standing WiT member Jo Ward released a book We All Ride Bikes Now, together with her co-author Philip Crompton. The story follows Anna and Jake, two young people who try to change the world.
A story about the way we move around in cities - and how that could change.
Jo has kindly agreed to join us for the evening as we explore the book's themes, including:
Why do you think less women than men tend to ride bikes ?
Were there any situations in the book that you could relate too?
What action would you take to encourage more people to get on their bikes?
Note, to purchase the book email weallridebikesnow@gmail.com with your order and where you would like your copy to be sent. This can usually be done in a few days, though orders placed between 16th and 27th September 2021 may take a little longer. The book costs £10 including UK P&P any profits go to Home | RideWise.
You can also check out their podcast if you would like to learn more!
All members are welcome, even if you’ve never participated in a book club previously (or even if you haven’t yet read the book!). If you are curious about our previous book discussions, check out these blog posts from past sessions. We are currently planning for quarterly meetings so if you are interested but can't make this session, you are welcome to join us at the next one.
The book club is only open to Women in Transport members. If you are not a member of Women in Transport and would like to join or find out more, click here.
