For the first time in the history of the Institution of Civil Engineers, the incoming President will address guests at an online inauguration event. This year’s incoming President is our very own Rachel Skinner, Patron of Women in Transport.
The Presidential address is one of the highlights of the Institution's calendar and will, as ever, be taking place this year. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic this event will be streamed online rather than hosted at One Great George Street.
In her address Rachel will share her thoughts around her theme for her year in office. Net Zero Carbon,
Rachel is Executive Director (Transport) at WSP. She was invited to become a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2019 and is a Chartered Engineer, Trustee and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. She is also a Fellow of the Institute of Highways & Transportation and a Chartered Transport Planner.
In late 2018, she was appointed by the Scottish Government as an Infrastructure for Scotland.
As one of the founding board members of Women in Transport, Rachel has been a member of our organisation since 2005 and we are very proud to have her as our Patron.
We hope you will be able to join us online to watch the event. https://www.ice.org.uk/events/presidential-address-2020
