A Celebration of Women in Engineering
We’re delighted Nusrat Ghani MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Transport, will be the keynote speaker at our summer reception hosted by Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Women in Transport, Ruth Cadbury MP.
The event will celebrate women in the sector and consider how we inspire the next generation during the Year of Engineering.
Women in Transport has partnered with the Women’s Engineering Society (WES) to hold this event as part of a programme to mark International Women in Engineering Day #INWED2018. WES is running a global campaign to encourage participants to show the world how they are #raisingthebar in pursuit of more diversity in engineering.
Both WES and Women in Transport are championing the Year of Engineering 2018, a national campaign aimed at shaking up people’s ideas about engineering and inspiring the next generation of innovators, inventors and problem solvers by showing them what engineers actually do.
Supported by TXM Recruit, Engie and Hitachi Rail Europe, the event will bring together leaders from across the transport sector.
Places will be reserved for Women in Transport members, so keep an eye out for emails from us on how to get involved. If you’re not yet a member, you can sign up here.
