Volunteer for Women in Transport

Our mission is to support women working in transport, empowering them to thrive in their careers. We support our members through networking, professional development, raising awareness of the diverse opportunities in our sector and collaboration with other like-minded organisations.

Could you be one of our new regional leads?

Our regional hubs are a vital part of the Women in Transport mission, expanding our network and reach for the benefit of our members.

We are currently seeking volunteers to head up the following regional hubs (see our map to see your specific area coverage):

Regional Leads

  • North East England

  • Yorkshire

Deputy Regional Leads

  • Scotland

  • Wales

  • Yorkshire

The main purpose of your role as a regional lead will be supporting the professional development of Women in Transport members by fostering community engagement, coordinating local initiatives and supporting the career growth of women in the transport industry within your designated region.

This includes representing Women in Transport at industry events, building connections, organising events, and providing a platform for knowledge exchange to empower our members in their professional journeys.

The role requires close partnership and collaboration with other regional leads and the wider Women in Transport team to work together as one team to deliver on our mission to advance women working in transport.

I started volunteering as a mentor as I could see the benefit such an opportunity would have been for me in my career had it been available then. I keep volunteering as I get so much from mentoring. Every year I get to meet and support amazing women from across the sector who share with, and teach me, so much. Volunteering brings strength to our purpose and a sense that as an individual I can help make a difference.

I started volunteering for Women in Transport because they do so much important work, and I wanted to be a part of it! The organisation has helped me grow and given me fantastic opportunities that I feel all of the time I have committed I have gotten back tenfold.

I started volunteering because I felt I owed something back to the industry that has given me so much opportunity in my career. I continue to volunteer because Women in Transport is such a welcoming, inclusive and fun organisation to be part of and I have met and worked with some pretty amazing and inspiring people.
