Celebrating a landmark year for Women in Transport

This time last week, we gathered together with our members and supporters at Lewis Silkin in Chancery Lane for our annual mince pies and networking event to celebrate a landmark year for Women in Transport.

This year has truly been packed with tremendous change and progress for our network and we are very proud of the incredible group of volunteers that have helped deliver our ambitious plans.

Our president, Katie Hulland, shared some of the major highlights of the year including the rebrand to Women in Transport, building a new mobile responsive website and membership platform, reaching 10K followers on Twitter, launching our very first mentoring programme and reforming the All Party Parliamentary Group for women in transport. None of this would be possible without the glue that keeps Women in Transport together - Christine Hurley.

Vice president, Sonya Veerasamy, also thanked Angela Gainsford for helping bring to life our first mentoring programme for Women in Transport. An idea that was first discussed at the annual mince pies and networking event last year. The evening was an opportunity for some of our 20 matched pairs to meet informally and network ahead of the start of formal mentoring sessions.

It has been a truly remarkable year and the evening was a fitting celebration. We are looking forward to an exciting line up of events in 2018 delivered by our new events team, led by Dorota Konieczna. Details of next year's events will be published soon. In the meantime, please follow us @transportwm and on Linkedin to stay up to date with the latest news.

Our thanks to Lewis Silkin  as ever for their continued generosity and support and for hosting another wonderful annual celebration.
