Advancing women in transport

Women in Transport is a not-for-profit that empowers women in the industry to maximise their potential. Membership provides exclusive access to events, our professional development programmes and the All Party Parliamentary Group for Women in Transport.

Women and girls make up 51 per cent of the UK population. The female employment rate is 72.3 per cent yet women remain underrepresented in the transport sector accounting for only 26 per cent of workers.

Everyone is welcome to join Women in Transport.

We believe that by working together, we can promote a diverse and strong transport workforce that supports UK growth.

Take part in the latest Equity Index

Excitingly, our second year of the Women in Transport Equity Index survey is now open.

This annual index is a comprehensive benchmarking tool to assess gender equity in the transport sector.

Please note that this survey is for companies to complete and is open to all businesses associated with the transport sector, whether UK-based or with operations in the UK.

Menopause Club

The Menopause Club is a monthly, virtual drop-in session for Women in Transport members to discuss everything related to perimenopause and menopause. It’s open to all members regardless of gender. The purpose is to create a safe space where members can share their experiences, and support and empower others.

We want to ensure these sessions continue to meet the needs of our members and welcome your views on how they should be run going forward at our next virtual drop-in.

Our next event is Wednesday 27th September from 9:15am - 10:00am. Come along and help us shape what the Menopause Club offering is. You can register here:  Menopause Club Virtual Drop In — Women in Transport.

In the meantime, why not check out the recording from our last session (linked right) when special guest speaker Kate Muir shared insights from her book Everything You Need to Know About the Menopause (but were too afraid to ask). Kate is a menopause expert, author and producer of three groundbreaking Davina McCall women’s health documentaries. She is also the founding member of The Menopause Charity.
