North West Regional Hub - Join our Informal Virtual Lunchtime Session and help get the ball rolling
Join our Regional Lead for the North West, Julie Cartwright, for an informal virtual catch up on Monday 4th July to network and explore how individuals and organisations could support the hub with our mission of advancing women working in transport in 2022 and beyond.
Julie is focused on revitalising plans to launch a hub based in the North West region. Previous plans to launch the North West hub in Spring 2020 were put on hold as the pandemic hit and subsequent lockdowns took hold. The success of the Scotland hub, the recent launch of the West Midlands hub and the lifting of restrictions earlier in the year has means that we are now revisiting plans with gusto and enthusiasm.
North West Lead - Julie Cartwright, Regional Coordinator - Asiya Jelani and Corporate Secretary - Mathew Regan are now working on building a steering group, with interested individuals and organisations.
So, this is a call out to members, to enquire if you are interested in getting involved or know of someone, friends, colleagues or businesses who would like to be part of the North West Regional Hub, then to get in touch. If you were part of the original NW steering group and would still like to be involved, then please get in touch with Julie at Julie.cartwright@eurovia.co.uk or Asiya at ajelani@trl.co.uk .
If you have any ideas, thoughts or suggestions, we would also really love to hear from you. Or indeed, if you are interested in getting involved with one of the other Regional Hubs (North East, Wales, West Midlands or Scotland) please also get in touch with Asiya and she can connect you with the Lead and volunteers driving those hubs.
For those of you who have heard of Women in Transport but have up to now, not been directly involved; Women in Transport is a not-for-profit paid professional membership network that empowers women working in transport to maximise their potential.
Membership provides exclusive access to an extensive events programme including unique experiences, professional development workshops and networking opportunities. Members also benefit from access to our annual Advance mentoring programme and our leadership development programme, Lead.
Launched in 2005 as WTS London, today, we have over 900 members with hubs in London, North East, West Midlands and in Scotland. As a non-profit, all our revenue contributes to supporting our activities with the mission of advancing women working in transport. We have a team of dedicated volunteers who support this mission.
