With the Government’s recent announcement of bringing forward its plan to outlaw the sale of petrol and diesel cars and vans from 2030 and the national bus strategy heralded as the most ambitious reform to the sector in a generation, the future of transport in the UK is about to undergo a significant amount of change.
In this webinar we will outline what future of the transport sector will look like for car, van and bus owners and operators. We’ll be sharing how SSE is planning to shape the future of travel by optimising usage of electric infrastructure assets to benefit both businesses and local communities through the provision of electric vehicle charging hubs.
By providing charging services that can support everything from large delivery fleets and taxi services to local businesses, SSE is seeking to integrate the future of vehicle transport and encourage shared resources to minimise the impact on the environment and pave the way to a greener future. There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach – every business has different needs and therefore will need to gauge which approach is right for them. What is universal however, is that we’re all on the road to net zero together, and so a collaborative approach is the way forward.
Gareth Fudge, Electric Vehicle Project Development Manager at SSE Enterprise will present on the subject. Gareth has many years of experience, gained across a variety of sectors from manufacturing, utilities and the construction industry. Initially time served, Gareth has worked in a variety of discipline, management, business development and leadership roles. During this time he has specialised in electrical, control and automation related projects. In recent years, he has chosen to apply these skills to better the environment. Since joining SSE Enterprise's EV Sector, he has been using his extensive experience to develop and implement EV charging hubs across the country from locations as varied as bus depots to retail parks.
SSE Enterprise is part of SSE Group, bringing whole system thinking to support the transition to net zero across the UK transport network. From sector leading work in designing and building electric bus depots, to supporting businesses converting their infrastructure to support the transition to a fully zero emission fleet, SSE uniting the energy and transport sectors in the rise of zero emission vehicles.
