Allyship - An Online Panel Discussion
What is allyship and what does a good ally look and behave? Have you had experiences where you have been impacted by an ally in the workplace? Was that impact positive or negative?
Come and join us online on Tuesday 7th June at this lunchtime Panel Discussion on Allyship which will be hosted by our own Jenny Tipping and featuring two male allies to the women in the transport sector, Michael Tarrega and Mick Skerrett.
Jenny is a trainer in communication skills with a particular focus on diversity. After 15 years in the trucking industry as an HGV driver and instructor she retrained and is now using her experience on the frontline to support individuals and organisations to make their workplaces more diverse. Her E-learning school Communication4Diversity includes courses on Allyship, Banter and Bullying, Emotional Awareness and Empathic Listening.
Michael is the External Relations Manager at Skanska Costain STRABAG Joint Venture and the Co-Chair of the FAIR Network (Female Advocates in Rail). He is a highly effective communications, public affairs and stakeholder engagement leader with more than ten years’ experience in the UK and Australia, across both the private and public sector, specialising in working on highly sensitive, multi billion pound, infrastructure programmes that generate high levels of public and political interest.
Mick is a subject matter expert in Driver Development for the Manpower Group. Bringing more than 35 years’ experience within the sector, 28 of which were in recruitment, he has worked with a variety of logistics companies on the shop floor, in compliance, operations and accounts management. Mick is a qualified DCPC Trainer and has associations with UK Logistics, is a contributing member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport, Chair of the Executive Board for Drivers and Logistics REC and Vice Chair of the Logistics Careers Development Charity “Think Logistics” as well as being a member of the cross industry trailblazer group for Logistics Apprenticeships.
There will be opportunities after the panel discussion to raise your questions or share your thoughts on this interesting subject.
Please note that, as we have limited time and to avoid disturbing the discussion, you will not be able access the session after 12.10pm, so please join promptly.
We look forward to talking to you there.
