Crossrail is inviting a small group of Women in Transport members to the Tottenham Court Road Crossrail open day on Monday 9 July 2018 to view the new ticket halls, concourse and Elizabeth line platform.

2018 is an historic year for Crossrail. The programme to deliver the new Elizabeth line is over 90 per cent complete. It will open through central London in December this year, transforming travel in the city.

When Elizabeth line services begin in December this year, it will be fully integrated with London’s existing transport network and will be operated by Transport for London. New state-of-the-art trains will carry an estimated 200 million passengers per year. The new service will speed up journey times, increase central London’s rail capacity by 10 per cent and bring an extra 1.5 million people to within 45 minutes of central London.
