According to Jon Manning, founder of Arthur Ellis: Mental Health Support, on average, 15 per cent of any workforce will have a diagnosable mental health illness. As a result, 34,000 people every day within the UK are being signed off sick from work and 300,000 people every year leave their jobs as a direct result of mental health issues.
Arthur Ellis: Mental Health Support is a business and not-for-profit organisation that has developed award winning methods of developing, understanding and managing mental illness at work.
This workshop, led by Jon Manning, will provide an overview of the typical causes, symptoms and treatment of anxiety and stress. It will include simulation training enabling attendees to experience symptoms first hand, thus raising their own emotional intelligence.
Tools will be provided to give you a unique way of identifying issues early as well as strategies to manage and prevent mental health issues affecting the individual lives of your team members. You will also be provided with a self-care plan structure and ways to develop that plan in order to help yourself and others maintain good mental health.
The workshop will also look at actions businesses can implement to alleviate the symptoms of stress in the workplace.
After the workshop session, we hope you will stay for networking over drinks and refreshments.
